ATE-Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India competitive examination for Engineers from various backgrounds administered and conducted jointly by the IISc Bangalore and Seven IITs.
Indian Engineering Services abbreviated as IES are the civil services that meet the technical and managerial functions of the Government of India. As like most countries, theGovernment of India recruits its civil servants and officials on the basis of merit and the middle management positions in the bureaucracy are filled through competitive exams. Large number of candidates take these exams, competing for limited posts. IES officers are selected by the union government on the recommendations made by the Union Public Service Commission. A combined four-stage competitive examination (comprising of six tests), called theEngineering Services Examination (ESE) is conducted by the UPSC for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services.
In the Regular Classroom course, Classes are conducted for Four to Six hours daily, five to six days in a week. The program lasts for around Nine Months. After completion of course, test series continues till one week before the examination.
This course is designed for working professionals, college going students and other such candidates, who are not able to join Regular courses. There will be 8 hours of classes on Saturdays and Sundays. The classes are also held on national holidays. The duration of the course will be around Nine months.
